With this application, you can search for characters in the Unicode Character Database and add them to custom soft keyboards (input method editors).
The application will install an input method called “Stash” on your device. You can access the settings of this input method from the OS settings. The settings screen of this input method consists of 2 parts:
- Keyboard Editor,
- Unicode Explorer.
Characters can be copied from Unicode Explorer to Keyboard Editor. Both parts are shown in the landscape mode. Only 1 part is shown in the portrait mode, but they can be switched by tapping buttons “CH” and “KB.” There is also an internal clipboard which looks like a row of characters at the bottom of the screen. It is useful for copying a bunch of characters in the portrait mode.
Keyboards created in Keyboard Editor will be added to the OS as distinct input method subtypes. In order to use a keyboard when editing text (in any application), enable it in the OS subtype enabler accessible from the menu.
Example usage
